Wildfire CityPages, the local city information and community platform, this week launched "My Eats," a new tool that lets residents save and organize their favorite restaurants, alongside a round of upgrades to its MyHouse home-maintenance dashboard and site-wide design consistency improvements. The updates are part of the publication's ongoing effort to make local discovery and home management easier for its community of users.
The centerpiece of this week's rollout is My Eats, a saved-restaurants feature built directly into Wildfire CityPages business listings. Users can now tap a heart icon on any restaurant page to save it to their personal list, tag a "Favorite Dish," and add private notes for their own reference. Saved restaurants can be filtered by category, and a guest preview lets visitors see how the feature works before signing in. To keep the experience personal and spam-free, saving is gated behind email confirmation, ensuring the feature is used by verified community members.
My Eats is fully integrated into the business details experience: any restaurant a user has saved now displays their heart status, favorite dish, and notes right on the page, with a simple edit dialog for quick updates. A new help center article walks users through the feature step by step, and a reusable "How it works" help link, introduced with this release, will appear alongside other tools across the site going forward.
"My Eats started as a simple way to bookmark your favorite restaurants, but it ends up solving a much more common problem: 'what do you want for dinner tonight?'" said George Sykes, Wildfire. "Now instead of scrolling around trying to remember that place you loved, you just open your favorites and start there."
"When you go to one of our sites, like https://edwardsville.com/eats, we want every single restaurant and eats location in the city available on one page," said Sykes. "We encourage users and residents to use the 'suggest a business' link if they know of a restaurant that isn't listed."
