Alton, Illinois - Strategic BJJ has been your choice for martial arts training in Alton-Riverbend area since 2019. We serve the community by offering Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and MMA programs. We have programs that are for kids and adults, programs for women only, coed classes, and classes for people who want to compete and challenge themselves. Our goal is to make you harder to kill! That means you will learn to defend yourself, get in better shape, and have fun in the process!
Strategic BJJ is proud to announce its continued commitment to the Adopt-A-Cop BJJ Program. The nationwide initiative aims to address critical gaps in the department-funded training of front line police officers by partnering with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gyms across the country to provide free or reduced rate memberships to police officers. The program sponsors officers until they achieve the rank of blue belt.
Police officers often find themselves in volatile situations that can quickly turn deadly. In these combative situations, being the more skilled grappler allows the officer greater control over the situation, reducing the likelihood of injury or death, for both the officer and the suspect.
"Being a police officer is one of the most selfless, dangerous, and important jobs in our world today. Investing in our officers is an investment in our communities," said Keith Steinacher of Strategic BJJ. "In teaching this program, I have come to find out how much officers appreciate training that helps make their job easier and safer. This program provides the training that officers need most, and it is training that they do not typically receive through their standard training programs. I'm proud that our school can be a part of a solution to this problem with LEO training. Officers who are a part of our program have nothing but positive feedback about how it has impacted them."
Strategic BJJ has been participating in the Adopt-A-Cop BJJ program for three years, and they have seen the positive impact firsthand. The program aims to create a more resilient and effective police force, improve police relations around our country, and ultimately reduce the incidence of police-involved shootings and deaths.
"Our goal is to get more and more officers into the program, but the best way to do it is by word of mouth. If you, or someone you care about, is in law enforcement, please tell them about this program!" added Steinacher.
Strategic BJJ is committed to helping local police officers through the Adopt-A-Cop BJJ Program, and they invite other Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gyms across the country to join them in this important initiative.
